WEI has been a registered 501(c)3 Public Charity in the USA since 2008. It was established to facilitate the transfer (with less than 3% administration overhead) of donations from our supporters in the United States directly to the projects of the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust and other organizations that support our mission.
WILD ENTRUST AFRICA (WEA)
WEA is simply the new name of our non-profit registered trust in Botswana formerly registered as the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust. The name was changed in 2017 to better reflect the growth of our team and our expanded focus.
WE serves as our umbrella organization under which our primary program themes (applied conservation research, environmental education, and community development) are framed. Integrated together these programs support valuable natural and social science conservation initiatives focused on finding and implementing solutions to the growing wildlife and wild space conservation and protection challenges.
There are many things we need your help with:
To promote the sustainability of threatened and endangered apex predators and their habitats.
To support our ongoing innovative conservation projects and to develop and apply new techniques that sustainably protect the natural habitats and ecosystems for both people and wildlife.
To build capacity among local Botswana, through training and mentoring, to ensure there are skilled conservationists and wildlife custodians for the future.
Support the conservation and management of wildlife and wildlife habitats through applied science and sustainable development
THREATENED & ENDANGERED SPECIES
We support research focusing on behaviour and ecology of threatened and endangered apex predators.
We support community projects focusing on coexistence between wildlife and sustainable development.
We support projects focusing on development and natural capital management policies and implementation.
