Solar lights in a household enable each learner an extra hour each day to read, learn and do homework in their home. Many communities are far from the nation’s electrical grid, and even those that have, many households are still unable to afford the costs of installation. 

The Village Lights program has been funded through Wild Entrust by Xigera Safari Lodge to provide Primary School children with solar powered lights that allow them to read and work on their schoolwork after the sun sets. The Village Lights delivery is combined with delivery of several books for each senior primary schooler and is delivered via the school Reading Club.
