A memorable adventure to Omogolo Hideaways

Excitement buzzed among students from Kelekele and Gumare Primary Schools as they set off on an unforgettable journey to Omogolo Hideaways, as winners of Coaching Conservation's 'Play It Forward' initiative, Gumare region. The adventure began with an exhilarating road trip from Gumare to Tsau, followed by a scenic ride on game viewers to the serene Omogolo.

Upon arrival, the students were captivated by an inspiring lesson about elephants, led by the dedicated coaches from Coaching Conservation. The session became even more magical when elephants made an appearance at a nearby waterhole, offering a real-life connection to the lessons.

The Omogolo team went above and beyond, curating a variety of educational and interactive activities for the students. They embarked on a bushwalk to explore the natural surroundings, crafted seed bombs to take home and nurture, and even learned how to make eco-friendly paper from elephant dung. These activities not only engaged the students but also instilled a deeper understanding of conservation and sustainability.

Teachers from both schools were effusive in their praise for Coaching Conservation and the Omogolo team. One teacher remarked, “We are so grateful for the opportunity to visit Omogolo. The activities you organized were both educational and enjoyable. The children learned so much about elephants and the importance of conservation.”

The students shared their excitement and appreciation as well. One student enthusiastically exclaimed, “Thank you so much for letting us come to Omogolo! The trip was amazing, and we loved all the activities.”

This remarkable experience at Omogolo Hideaways will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the students. The combination of hands-on learning, close encounters with wildlife, and the fun of creating sustainable crafts has sparked a passion for conservation. Through initiatives like 'Play It Forward,' Coaching Conservation continues to inspire young minds to cherish and protect the natural world.
