Play it Forward - Maun Winners. Thamo Telele

The Mathiba Primary School’s triumphant win in the Play it Forward competition was not just a celebration of victory but a testament to the boundless power of creativity and inspiration in shaping a better society. This remarkable achievement brought pride to the students, their school, and the entire community, emphasizing the importance of passion and dedication.

On the much-anticipated award day, the presence of distinguished guests, Lesley McNutt and Ms. Ridge from the Ministry of Education, lent an air of significance to the occasion. In front of the entire school 27 beaming students proudly received their certificates with their accomplishments celebrated with enthusiastic applause.

Following the formalities the students embarked on an unforgettable journey to Thamo Telele, where a unique experience awaited them. Meeting their animal coaches!

Thamo Telele revealed its wonder as the students gazed in awe at the magnificent wildlife around them. Graceful kudu, towering giraffes, and nimble impalas roamed freely, painting a vivid picture of nature’s splendour. The Coaching Conservation team elevated the day with engaging presentations and interactive games that deepened the students’ understanding of wildlife conservation and its importance.

Adding to the joy was a delightful feast of burgers, crispy fried chips, juices, and indulgent ice cream desserts. A meal that satisfied not only their appetites but their spirits too!

The excitement among the students was palpable with their laughter and chatter filling the air. Ms. Adonia Mang, one of the dedicated coaches, shared her heartfelt joy at witnessing the children’s happiness describing the experience as profoundly rewarding.

Gertrude Kefeletswe, speaking on behalf of the students, voiced their collective gratitude. The opportunity to go on a bush walk and witness animals up close for the first time left an indelible mark on their hearts. “This is a memory we will cherish forever,” she said, vowing that they would carry the message of conservation forward with them.

The Mathiba Primary School’s win in the Play it Forward competition has etched an inspiring chapter in their lives. Beyond the celebration and joy the experience instilled a profound sense of responsibility to protect the environment and its creatures. These young champions of conservation have not only gained knowledge but also a renewed purpose to make a difference.

For these 27 students this day was more than just an event; it was a catalyst for change. It showed them that through creativity, passion, and teamwork, they can impact their world and inspire others to do the same. Their journey at Thamo Telele will forever remind them of the beauty they’re striving to preserve and the power of playing it forward.
